Safeguarding underpins everything we do at Scotty's. Every family we support should feel confident that their children are safe in our care.
Safeguarding at Scotty's
At Scotty’s we promise to support our team through on-going training and continuous professional development in safeguarding and to maintain a culture where team members feel safe to raise any and all concerns. We promise to take all concerns seriously and share appropriate information with relevant authorities in a timely and efficient manner.
We recognise that we may only have one piece of the puzzle and so it is important to responsibly and ethically share that information in case it may help show a bigger picture.
‘Families come first’ is our core value. Protecting our Scotty community from harm and promoting their wellbeing is part of our core value.

Our commitment
- Every member of staff and volunteer who works directly with children completes safeguarding training and a DBS check before starting.
- We have a named safeguarding lead who all concerns are reported to, and who liaises with external agencies when needed.
- Our events and activities are designed and run with safeguarding built in from the start, not added afterwards.
- We listen to children, young people and adults and take any concern they raise seriously, however it's raised.
